Coloring Our Way Through Mourning & Loss

Coloring is calorie free comfort food.

Marilyn is 72 years old and she’s living alone for the first time in over 50 years.  Her kids have been great at calling and visiting since their dad passed away. Still, Marilyn spends a lot of time alone.  One of her favorite activities? Coloring.  “It fills time and gives me a lot of pleasure. It surprised me how comforting it is.”

It’s with people like Marilyn in mind that I’m designing adult coloring pages with themes that comfort and express tender feelings.

They’re free, so if you know someone who would be blessed by these pages, I’d be honored if you’d share them.

November’s Free Package Features Guest Artists

Our newest pack of free adult coloring pages features original art by designers I know you’re going to enjoy.

Rose Rambo is a visionary artist worth following. She has the unique ability to translate the creative inspiration of innocence to paper and canvas. Mrs. Rambo brings joy and inspiration to adults through the creative play of rediscovering the joy of color.

Mrs. Rambo was home schooled and began her studies at Tarrant County College at the age of sixteen. She continued her studies in art at Abilene Christian University. She works in acrylics, watercolor, pen and ink. Rose’s attention to detail has created a demand for commissioned portrait work. Her photographic memory provides an endless library of ideas and inspiration.

Rose is a native Texan, born in San Antonio and raised in Fort Worth. She lives with her husband and two cats. Rose looks forward to new opportunities to bring joy, inspiration, and beauty to the world around her.

Cynthia Caldwell began Yet Another Mom Blog to share all kinds of projects, but she hit a chord on a post about adult coloring and has since been spending most of her time on all things coloring! In addition to the many free coloring pages she has released on several Facebook groups and her blog, she also recently released her first coloring book and opened an Etsy shop to sell some of her designs. She is now in the process of launching a new brand – goCOLOR! – which will include all types of products coloring-related, including T-shirt, cards, tote bags and more.

Tabitha Barnett is a 36 year old wife and mother of 3. She had a passion for art at an early age which she continued in through early adulthood. After college, she became very career oriented and drifted away from her artistic abilities. In March of 2015, she stumbled upon the Zentangle method of art and hasn’t stopped putting pen to paper since.

Sue Chastain is a self-taught graphic designer, illustrator, and writer.

She has an Associate of Science degree in Interior Design Technology. While studying interior design, she developed an interest in graphics software, and found that much of her interior design training could be applied to graphics and design.  After teaching herself graphics software and design, she began teaching it online though articles, illustrated tutorials, and reviews. After writing about graphics software for more than 15 years, she shifted her focus back to freelance design and creating graphic art, which she showcases on her web shop,

At the suggestion of a friend, she began creating coloring pages for adults from the detailed pattern designs she created for her own enjoyment. Her intricate coloring book designs are hand-crafted and digitally enhanced to produce crisp and sharp lines of the highest quality.

When not designing, drawing, or writing, Sue can usually be found enjoying her backyard oasis–soaking in the pool, listening to music, or reading–often all at the same time! She resides in rural Florida with her husband and two dogs. Her favorite color is red.

From Sue: “Creating these designs has given me many hours of relaxation and joy, and I hope that coloring them will do the same for you.”

Kate Marsh created a book containing hand made drawings of each letter of the alphabet.  Each letter is filled to bursting with smaller drawing all of which start with the particular letter.

A list of items to find has been provided with each letter. See how many you can find.  Some are easier to find than others, so the list is split into those that I think you should be able to find without too much problem and those that I think only the eagled eyed may spot.  For some of them (especially the some letters such as Q, X and Z ) you may need to break out the dictionary.

However, remember that coloring is all just for a bit of fun … So just find as many as you can and enjoy the coloring.
